Spot order types FAQs

Market, limit, stop-loss, take-profit, stop-limit, OCO, and post-only, allowing you to control your positions, size, and triggers.
A stop-loss is a type of conditional sell order, that sells a particular asset at your desired exit price. If the market hits it, the position closes automatically to cap losses. You must already own the asset in your spot wallet to place a stop-loss order.
Go to the Order Form on Kraken Pro. Switch the panel direction to Sell and select Stop-Loss from the order type dropdown menu. Input the Trigger Price (the market price that will activate your sell order). Alternatively, you can choose a percentage drop offset. Set the amount of the asset you want to sell using the text box or the percentage slider. Review your details and hit Sell.
A limit fills at your set price or better, while a stop-limit waits for a trigger price, then places your limit order.
